MagiBlade Alpha 1.3 - Animation Improvements, Bigger Level, and More
This update to MagiBlade focuses mainly on quality of life improvements with the goal to make the game more impactful and fun. Features such as lighting, particle effects and animations have been altered to look better and contribute more to the overall experience. Emphasis has been placed on making the player fun to simply control.
In addition, the camera system has been overhauled in favor of a modular camera system in which each section of the world, now divided into micro-levels, gets a designated camera.
Deaths have been changed as well. Now, instead of being needlessly booted to a game-over screen, you immediately respawn at a nearby checkpoint to decrease frustration and streamline the gameplay loop.
Many sprites have been altered to increase consistency and fluidity, adding a level of polish that did not previously exist.
Lastly, the UI has been condensed into a simple bar at the bottom of the screen to reduce distraction during gameplay.
Unfortunately, due to balancing concerns, the weapon system has been temporarily removed. Instead, the player is given 4 weapons to play with to move focus to platforming.
